Galette Des Rois

Starting from Dec 28th  The ‘Kings Cake’ traditionally celebrates the Epiphany in France, an occasion to “tirer les rois” which means deciding who is King or Queen of the day. The Galette Des Rois consists of flaky puff pastry layers with a dense center of frangipane, a rich almond cream. Each Galette des Rois comes with a ceramic figurine inside and the person who finds the trinket in his or her slice becomes King or Queen for the day and will have to offer the next cake the following year.
